P.M. belongs to a photographic archive in progress. For 10 years I exhaustively photographed the landscapes of Calafat, a small estate in the south of Catalonia and the district of Sant Gervasi in Barcelona, on the edge of the city and the mountain, places that have been constant sources for my other work. Over the years I have documented the transformation of these landscapes but also its suspension in time. Over time the archive has built up an almost psychological and metaphysical character. From this archive I have done different works ranging from mere photographic enlargements to artists' books or slide projections, or combinations of all the previous.
P.M. is one of these projections, photographed entirely in Calafat, a Smithsonian landscape where things are under construction and simultaneous abandonment, where this process of change, simultaneous construction and destruction is suspended in the infinite loop of the slide carrousel. That give a cinemathic effect, underlining the metaphoric character of the projection and the precarious status of the photographic image as a record.
